What is the advantage of Watch OUT’s Digital Correlation Technology over other outdoor detectors that have 2 PIR channels?
In other outdoor detectors with 2 PIR channels (e.g. Optex, Crow, Paradox), a false alarm is caused if different events (happening at the same time) trigger each of the PIR channels. Watch OUT’s Digital Correlation Technology prevents false alarms from different events, because it compares the signals between the channels. Signals caused by different events do not match, as illustrated in the figure, and are cancelled out.
Why do you state that Watch OUT has 2 MW channels? I observe only 1 MW module.
Watch OUT’s microwave module has 2 different frequency channels; each frequency produces separate Doppler pulses and is a separate channel. The 2 channels are used to differentiate between forward and backward moving targets. Notice that there are 4 electrical connections from the module to the PCB; 2 for each channel. Regular single channel MW modules have only 2 connections.
Why is installation flexibility so important in outdoor installations?
The importance of installation flexibility for outdoor detectors cannot be underestimated, as it is a prerequisite for optimal detection and high false alarm immunity. A detector that is installed in a manner that does not match the terrain will provide poor detection performance and suffer from higher false alarm rates. Installers will really appreciate the installation flexibility of Watch OUT as it will enable them to easily provide a perfect match of the terrain to be protected; thus providing optimal performance.
How does the MW Anti-collision feature work?
The Anti-collision feature works automatically without setting any codes or jumpers.
It is enabled by the presence of 2 MW frequencies, as follows:
The MW pulses are transmitted in a duty cycle that is controlled by a crystal. The crystals in each detector have a slightly varying and random shift in timing. The 2 MW frequencies enable "feeling" a MW disturbance from other detectors and "skipping in time" to cancel a collision.
What is IP65?
IP65 is a weatherproof rating. IP stands for Ingress Protection (ingress means entrance or access). The rating’s first digit e.g. IP65 relates to the ingress protection against dust (6 means dust tight). The second digit e.g. IP65 relates to the ingress protection against water (5 means protected against water jets).
Most other outdoor detectors have a rating of IP54. Accidental water jets from a garden hose-pipe may cause damage and render an IP54 detector useless. It will not cause any damage to a detector with IP65 rating such as Watch OUT.
What is Proximity Anti-sabotage?
The Watch OUT issues a proximity alert when anyone approaches within close proximity of the detector. This alert serves as a pre-warning for sabotage or masking attempts – and can scare away a would-be-intruder before damage is done. Coupled with the analytic anti-mask, this provides protection from any type of sabotage attempt.
How do weather conditions such as rain, snow or fog affect the performance of Watch OUT?
The above weather conditions should not adversely affect performance of the Watch OUT. Neither the MW nor the PIR channels are affected. Fog does not affect PIR detectors however it may adversely affect Active infrared beams. In the case of snow, detection performance may improve, as snow reduces the background temperature, hence the temperature difference between an intruder and the background increases. In addition, the Watch OUT is supplied with hood, protecting it from direct sunlight and rain drops on the lens.

Adjustable coverage allows this motion sensor to cover 12m at 90 degrees or 23m at 5 degrees, and this pet-immune motion detector won't be triggered by pets up to 71.12 centimeters in height.
The WatchOUT DT Outdoor Motion Detector is a hardwired motion detector, but you can connect it to the Wireless Universal Transmitter (sold separately) to use it with the WisDom Wireless Security System.
